![]() Is the Behringer interface as good as it is said, or should I just save for a RME Babyface ?I started with a Behringer UMC204HD and then "upgraded" to a UMC404HD for the extra inputs - I'm almost sorry that I didn't go the whole hog and get the UMC1820 (which has SPDIF by the way) which is still < € 200. So, is there any alternative left for me ? Is the Behringer interface as good as it is said, or should I just save for a RME Babyface ? The only thing missing on the Behringer interface is the SPDIF port (which I never used on my old interface, but who knows ?). This would leave me with the Babyface Pro FS, which is over 700 €, over my budget, and with the Behringer UMC404HD or UMC204HD, which I read is not so bad at all. Then to complicate things, Thomann and other dealers do not carry 1st and 2nd gen Focusrite interfaces new, only the 3rd gens (which is not compatible with 10.6.8). Pretty much all other interfaces I looked at are not compatible with OSX 10.6.8. Behringer UMC404HD or UMC204HD (which apparently doesn't require drivers for Mac, being class compliant). So far I came up with these possibilities: ![]() My goal was to find a decent budget interface and compatible with an old macbook running MacOSX 10.6.8
